I can remember which address to browse to & then click login link (I think - I use a PW mgr). Until the "right" address changes.
If I go to index.php & click login, I may get "you have exceeded the limit..." and a captcha.
** The captcha does NOT show up until AFTER I've attempted a login. That's when the "you've exceeded..." msg & captcha show. That's just the main forum page. What's wrong w/ that?
Does the forum software NOT look at the user name / PW before it decides to throw a captcha? (vs looking at an IP address). Because I have dynamic address. Else, don't see why I'd be getting a captcha as a long time user w/ no spamming.
I don't see the value of having captchas on some, but not all valid login pages.
But if I go to http://smplayer.sourceforge.net/forum/ & click login, I don't get a captcha? What's the point of having captchas if they're not on all possible login pages?
If there's only one EXACT address users can login from to avoid captchas, maybe that should be in a sticky at the top of each forum. Or maybe that'd be giving too much away.
