Saving a clip

I have here a very slow internet connection, on average about 0.4 KiB/sec, which makes a continuous watching or listening nearly impossible. Youtobe.com allows me to choose, if I want to download the clip and then offers a couple or so quality choices. This is very interesting, as I can download with Firefox's DownThem All extension several downloads at the same time. So I go out, let the computer run and download whatever I want or need.
Is there a similar feature or is such a feature in the planning? It is terribly annoying, this slower than a snail connections.
