FLAC and AAC videos have EXTREMELY LOW VOLUMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Postby sat2092 » Sat Aug 14, 2010 4:32 am

I have been having this problem for quite a while and because of it I've just stopped playing those kinds of files on SMPlayer anymore and look for ones with alternate audio like AC3 or something...

The problem is that whenever I play a file that has FLAC in it, the audio is ALWAYS EXTREMELY LOW!!!! That same problem also occured when I tried to play a file that had AAC in it!! I can usually play that kind of file (the AAC one) but I don't know if that was because it was a 1280x720 Blu-Ray file or what.

But my main problem is that I find great video files that have the codec FLAC in them and I know I won't be able to play them no matter what I do so I just end up not getting them (what a shame...).

The FLACs are usually 1280x720 Blu-Ray rips and not DVD.
The recent AAC one is also the same.

Problem description: In the FLAC files the background sounds/sound effects/karaoke noise is extremely low along with the regular noise. HOWEVER, for the AAC files, the background sounds and everything were very good and normal level but the speaking/regular noise was extremely low. For the AAC files, all I had to do was to bring up the Audio Equalizer window and adjust the 16kbps to 66 for my files and they were pretty decent volume level(not great/normal but decent). I would REALLY love it if you could ESPECIALLY help me out with the FLAC problem because the Equalizer settings don't even seem to work for me and then I would appreciate it even MORE if you could manage to help me with the AAC problem. I don't know but I could be needing some new codecs or something but I don't want to lose the flexibility and the awesomeness of the SMPlayer just because it can't play FLACs and the occasional AACs but if anyone out there could help me out I would be greatly indebted to you.

Volume normalization is set to 200 and any higher and for all files it just becomes static-y audio.

I don't know if it's that I don't have the correct codecs or my settings are wrong or what but I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP IF YOU COULD FIGURE OUT A SOLUTION.

Oh and if you need any kind of logs or anything then just ask me and I'll paste them on here.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!
