Changing the name of downloaded subtitles

Postby theisaagaard » Wed Jun 03, 2015 9:59 am

Hey

I use SMplayer on Ubuntu 14.04.2. I can not seem to find a function where I decide the suffix of downloaded subtitles. Essentially I would like the subtitle to be named exactly the same as the file name and not with the language suffix, i.e. _en at the end, is this possible?

Hope you can help!

You need to edit ~/.config/smplayer/smplayer.ini, look for [findsubtitles] and change include_lang_on_filename to false.

I can't seem to find the smplayer.ini. I thought the .config folder should be in my home folder, but there is none? I can find the smplayer.ini when I search my computer, but I am new to Ubuntu (as of yesterday) and i cant seem to see the path for the file this way, and can't open it directly with gedit... A little more help to a Ubuntu newbie? :D
