Okay, I did the tests using the portable version you linked to. The results are as follows: (1) using the command line options dpiawareness=0 and dpiawareness=1 does nothing--SMPlayer's interface is still grossly magnified; (2) using the environment variable QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=0 works--the interface looks as it does with version 7805, which is the look I prefer.

I might consider setting the environment variable at Windows startup and continuing to update. Or maybe you can fix it so that's not necessary now that you know what works...?

I added in r7855 options in preferences -> interface -> high dpi to disable the high dpi support or change the scale factor.

However for the moment these options work for smplayer only, not smtube.

Thanks (even though I'm not currently using r7855)...the environmental variable technique is working for me on r7831...
