SMPlayer 16.6.0 Showing hidden files in open file dialog.

Postby TomDrake » Sat Jul 02, 2016 12:43 am

I have all files hidden in win 7 as default. Just noticed that they are showing in the open file dialog. System files are hidden but ordinary "hidden" files show up.

Cycling the options makes no difference. Any ideas?

I think if you right click in the open file dialog there's an option to display or not the hidden files.

Nope just the standard view options.

It's not happening in the VLC/MPC or Windows Media Player open file dialogs.

**EDIT**

This is happening on 2 different machines in 16.6.0 release & in the latest Dev version. So definitely SMPlayer related as opposed to windows.

**EDIT 2**

Checking back to 16.4.0 the files do NOT show. Something has definitely changed between the last 16.4 and 16.6 plus it's also happening in 16.7.0.

So, nothing else then?

Still doing it on the three machines I have it installed now. Is this NOW intentional? Is it a bug? Is this ONLY me?

Does anyone know?

It's not intentional. It might be a bug in Qt 5 (version 16.4 used Qt 4).

I could use the native Qt 5 open dialog instead of the Windows dialog, which has an option to show or not the hidden files but that dialog is very different and I think I would get a lot of complaints.

Right. If it's that deep it's beyond something I can sort out so I guess I have my answer. It'll go away or it won't (if it's QT5 related) at some point.

I mostly wanted to know there was something I could change to fix it. It was the fact it changed for (from my pov) no discernible reason and I couldn't find any way to change it. Now I KNOW I can't I'll have to wait it out. Thanks anyway.
