audio cd play?

I tried searching for this topic on this forum but when entering audio cd play it says these are too common terms and won't search. In smplayer, If I go to "disc" I see under it "audio cd" but when clicking nothing happens. I have my cd/dvd drive selected in preferences. I guess I haven't been using smplayer for time to play audio cd's. I've been using vlc player, but lately sometimes the song will start having little skips. So I wanted to try another program to see if that's the problem. Are there more steps I should take to play audio cd's using smplayer? Thanks

Please send the SMPlayer log after trying to play a CD (menu View -> SMPlayer log).
