smplayer-0.6.8 cannot display chinese on kde 4.3

hi,

i am not sure if it is a bug. my system is gentoo amd64, with kde 4.3, the smplayer is 0.6.8. all other applications works with chinese characters fine. but smplayer cannot displayer chinese in its window title, ONLY when it is playing .rmvb files. all i see is some strange characters. but when playing .avi files, the chinese is displayed in the title.

maybe it is a character encoding issue. my system supports en_US, en_US.UTF-8, zh_CN, zh_CN_UTF-8. i am not sure what else encoding/decoding function i need.

Usually smplayer just displays in the title the filename of the file you're playing, but sometimes mplayer reports some useful info about the file (like the title name of a song), in that case smplayer prefer to display the title reported by mplayer. The problem is that smplayer can't know the encoding of that text, so if the encoding is not the same of the system locale it will be displayed wrong.

This is an old problem which I couldn't fix yet.

I thought this could be fixed with the mplayer option -msgcharset <charset> but the last time I tested it, it didn't work. Maybe I should try again.

I've just tested. It doesn't work. The clip info texts are not converted to the specified charset
