It works for me fine.

Does it work if you select a different video output other than vdpau?

I tried with opengl and I got the same result. And I think I forgot to mention I am on Xubuntu 17.10 (just in case it is an OS specific error)

Tested on Ubuntu 16.04 with SMPlayer 18.2.2 and mpv 0.27. It works fine for me.
