Bug with disappearing button from main toolbar?

Postby Xenos » Mon May 21, 2018 10:42 pm

Hi,
Most of the time I work on my laptop with a second monitor (or a projector) connected to it.
I use SMPlayer to have full screen video playback on the second display, while I have all the controls available on my laptop screen.

To be able to work faster and more efficient, I have added two buttons on the main toolbar, one for “Send video to screen --> 1 DISPLAY1 (Primary screen)” and one for “Send video to screen --> 2 DISPLAY2”.

When I run SMPlayer on my laptop without the second display connected, I noticed that the button for “Send video to screen --> 2 DISPLAY2” had disappeared, which I thought it was normal, since there wasn’t another display available.
However, when I turned on the second monitor and run SMPlayer, I realized that the button for “Send video to screen --> 2 DISPLAY2” didn't come back, but had disappeared permanently.

I tried several times and every time the same problem occurred and each time I had to edit the main toolbar to re-add the specific button.
I would really appreciate it if you could take a look at this.

Thanks in advance,
Xenos

I don't know if this is possible to fix.

But you can add the whole menu to the toolbar, add the action "send_to_screen_menu".

I just tried what you suggested.
It works great and in real time. I turn the second screen on and off while SMPlayer is running and it shows the available options (one or two displays) without having to restart the application.
I wish it could work for the individual buttons for each display, but it is the same function with just one more click, so it's not a big deal
Thanks for the quick and helpful response.
