Trying to play .ISO

Tried to play an ISO file.
a. using 'Send to' (SMPlayer)
b. open SMPlayer then drag and drop the ISO
c. File Open the .ISO

in all instance SMPlayer ended up with a 'Mplayer/mpv has finished unexpectedly. Moe info in the log' error.

The log error attached.
(Have path and name to the ISO for privacy reasons)

Any ideas?

Does it work if you select "mplayer" as multimedia engine in preferences -> general?

Sorry for the delay.
I have changed 'Multimedia engine' (in Settings->General) from mpv to mplayer just now.
Let's see.

Also note following behavior:
- with this setting still set to mpv -

1) when trying to play an .iso or VIDEO_TS folder, SMPlayer was restarted/was looping an introduction commercial.
So, at the beginning of the main movie, there was/is a 10-20 seconds commercial of other series.
Whilst set to mpv, this was played again and again.

However, I believe whilst set to mplayer this is gone. I tried a few videos: after the commercial, the main movie was played.

2) As a temporary workaround to play the VIDEO_TS folder I downloaded VLC 3.03 zip (portable).
Launched it using Explorer.
Then dragged and dropped the folder MovieXYZ (containing the VIDEO_TS) into VLC
VLC skipped the commercials and immediately showed the menu (Play movie, chapters, subtitles, etc)

This menu was skipped with SMPlayer (mplayer) under (1) above, i.e. with SMPlayer, after the commercials, the main movie started automatically.
No menu.

How to set SMPlayer the same way?
(Skip commercials, start with main menu instead)

I don't know the structure of the DVD you're trying to play, but you can select a title to play in the menu Browse. Maybe one of the titles is the movie without the commercials.

I don't know ...

As said, I launch SMPlayer and drag and drop the retail DVD9 .iso into it.
SMPlayer starts playing the commercial stuff and then move on to the main movie.
However, the DVD containers 2 movies.
Because the menu is not shown by SMPlayer, I am not able to the 2nd movie.

Now, I launch vlc.exe and drag the same .iso into VLC.
It will show the menu immediately - it does not present the 2x commercials (each about 10 seconds)
I can select the 2nd movie.

Later: I noticed what happens .. after the commercials the main man -may- rpt -may- show up.
Sometimes it does, in most cases it is not.

When viewing carefully - the second after the commercial intro the menu flashes by in a split second.
Really, it is a split second, reason why I didn't notice it before.

That is with mplayer selected.
With mpv selected, the warning about unauthorized copying bla bla it passes by in maybe half a second,
whereas the menu does show at all (not even in a split second)

I am sorry, this is how it is with me.
Hope you can figure out what might be the cause/how to solve this.

According to the duration, the movie seems to be title 6, 7, 8 or 9. Try those.

Guess I will continue to play VIDEO_TS and ISO with VLC and other media with SMPlayer. Regretfully so.
Hopefully it will be solved one day.
