Problem with SONY ATRAC3 & VOXWARE audio

There are some old avi files with the above sound compression which I cannot playback on SMPlayer properly! Ok for video, it's divx, but I just hear silence instead of audio track! How come? Is there any chance to finetune the player so that I could hear the sound, eventually? Pls help.
