Zoom issue in beta version

I was unable to play certain mkv files using the most recent stable version of smplayer and tried installing the beta version 0.6.9.3615 for Windows. Unlike using the stable version, zooming won't maintain the aspect ratio of the file and stops zooming once the screen is filled. It just expands to the point that no black borders are visible with a distorted aspect ratio. This happens with all files including xvid. Changing demuxers and codecs or the monitor aspect has no effect. Any ideas about how to fix this?

Have you tried to change the video output driver?
