Cyrillic encoding for Bulgarian language

Postby lieut256 » Tue Feb 28, 2012 3:29 pm

Hi, everybody! I'm very new to Linux, so excuse me, if my question is dummy. I try to run these Bulgarian subtitles: http://subsunacs.net/get.php?id=80251 but only unreadable signs appear. The problem obviously concerns the encoding but how could I fix it?

Go to preferences -> subtitles and change the subtitle encoding to cyrillic (iso-8859-5).

Thank you, it particularly worked.

When I changed the encoding, the signs also changed, but remained still unreadable. Then I changed the font, it was Arial, which I still have not, and the problem was solved.

ACTA motivated me to migrate from Win to Linux Mandriva and these are my very first steps with the new OS.
