Some file types don't work with seeking in MPlayer and AVCHD is one of them. You can try MPlayer2 as someone with the same issue got it to work with MPlayer2 http://mplayer2.srsfckn.biz/

I realized that mplayer2-x86_64 works in 64 bits (windows 7)! is that right ?

I can never get Mplayer2 64-bit to stop crashing and play a single video personally while the 32-bit works fine. Everyone else but me apparently can use the 64-bit version.

I'm currently using the latest version of the 64bit (04-Mar-2012) http://mplayer2.srsfckn.biz/
