Posted: Tue Sep 04, 2018 5:50 pmReinstall smplayer, the package with the installer (not the portable one). The installer will download the latest version of youtube-dl. If that doesn't fix the problem, then maybe you need to wait some days until the people of youtube-dl fix the problem.

The reason was that I didn't have visual c++ 2010 runtime (x86) installed so the download from yt-dl.org was failing
It was probably because of a Windows 10 reset without losing files that made lost important system things, it also gave me a hard time with Rise of Nations.
