Unclear how the Favorites list works

I've saved a bunch of videos as favorites. I am hoping to be able to watch all the of them back to back, but when I click the Favorites (heart) icon and play one video, it doesn't play the next video in the favorites list, but instead plays the next video in the original folder location. That kind of defeats the point of having a favorites list.

What am I overlooking here?

You need to use a playlist for that.

OK, but how can I save my favorites list as a playlist?

The favorites are actually saved as playlists. You can find them in the smplayer configuration folder, with names favoritesXXXX.m3u8
