Online playlists (streaming) not working

I really like SMPlayer and I just replaced VLC with it as it's much stabler. But there's one issue that I can't seem to figure out:
I've tried a few streaming radios but they don't work. For example:
http://onair15.xdevel.com:7096/listen.plsit plays fine in mplayer and vlc, but in smplayer it just doesn't do anything. I've tried both from the terminal and from the "open url" menu. Then if I press the "play" button it briefly shows "connecting to server" and then "stop".
Any suggestion?

That playlist works fine in my computer.

Is there a debug/verbose switch or something I can enable to understand why it doesn't work on mine? Like I said, here all playlists I've tried work fine with other players but not with smplayer, so the connection works and the audio libraries are ok.

Send the smplayer log (menu View) after trying to play the playlist.

Thanks. Here's the log (I clicked twice the "play" button just to make sure)

Go to preferences -> general and select mpv as multimedia engine instead of mplayer.

I can confirm choosing mpv as multimedia engine solves the problem with playlists, but it causes a different issue: video files are played "detached" from smplayer. Screenshot:

Try selecting a different video output in preferences -> general -> video.
If that doesn't fix it, then maybe you can try to pass to mpv the option --gpu-context=x11 (preferences -> advanced -> mplayer/mpv), as another user explained here:

None of those worked, including passing the option, which made mpv show no video at all. Since I'm on gnome/wayland I tried --gpu-context=wayland and video was visible again, but in its own detached window.

Since mplayer has no issues with videos, I'll keep the default settings for now and avoid playlists. I plan to move soon from Gnome to Mate anyway, maybe things will work better then. Thanks for your help.
