Wrong length indicated Windows 64bit mts mp4 files

I have a bunch of .mts files which are apparently mp4 files. Play fine in SMplayer (just d/l and installed regular, not portable 64bit windows version), but the time it says the file/video is for is WAY off! Windows Explorer shows the right length, like 30 minutes or an hour, SMPlayer shows 17 hours or something else weird and not even close.
Any idea why this is or how to fix?
Thanks,
Rich

Could you send the mplayer/mpv log (menu View) after playing one of those videos?

Sorry for delay, smplayer has been behaving and displaying correct times lately, but just now, after playing several videos and having the times displayed correctly, got this for an hour and 4 minute video.
Attached smplayer, mplayer logs and screen shot showing the indication that this hour long video is 14 hours.
Obviously this isn't critical, but thanks for any help as to why this happens.
Not sure if this is helpful or not but after this file, I opened another one and it showed the time correctly.
Re-opened the file in question and showed same wrong time. Tried several times, same thing.
Renamed the file by adding a 2 at the end of the file name and re-opened it and the time showed correctly!!!!!!! AUGH!

The log shows several errors about the video and audio. Maybe the video file is damaged?

Thanks for the thought but I did post this:
"Renamed the file by adding a 2 at the end of the file name and re-opened it and the time showed correctly"
So I can't see how renaming a damaged video file would fix the damage... :)

I don't know.
Do you have a small sample video with this problem that you can share?
