Well, I'm puzzled. What you expect is actually the actual behaviour, and I can't reproduce your problem in my system.
Can you send the smplayer log (menu View) after trying to playing the second video?

It looks like you're actually using the option to append a video to the playlist instead of just playing it. Are you using a package provided by a distro? Maybe they changed something, this is not the intended behavior.

I am using Ubuntu 18.04 and installed from Ubuntu Software . Can i do anything about this?

Could you try to install smplayer from my PPA?

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:rvm/smplayer
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install smplayer smplayer-themes

Still same problem
After installing from the repo, could not play video at all, error "MPlayer/Mpv failed to start. Please check the Mplayer/Mpv path in prederence." In preference i found path 'usr/bin/mpv' but it does not exists. Rather 'usr/bin/mplayer' exists. so i changed the path and was able to play video. But the initial problem remains

That's strange because I think smplayer doesn't even have the message " 'current video title' is ready ".
I don't have Ubuntu 18.04 but I think I can test in Ubuntu 20.04 to see if the problem happens there too.

I am really sorry, the problem is open with is set to Enque in Smplayer instead of just Smplayer.
Now i changed to Smplayer and its working properly. Thanks for your efforts.

Ok, I'm glad you fixed it

I think the "smplayer is ready" message comes from the desktop manager when smplayer tries to raise the window to the foreground.
