Single Instance not working

Greetings.
I have SMPlayer (Portable) on all three of my XP laptops.
The "single instance" setting no longer works on one of the laptops.
I copied the SMP directory from a laptop where single instance works
to the other laptop, but single instance still did not work.
Could there be a registry setting that needs to be tweaked?

Any helpful replies/insights appreciated.

SMPlayer tries to access the Loopback zone each time it starts.
At the time I was using ZoneAlarm (but after 10 years I no longer do).
I had had to reinstall ZA and the Loopback zone was not set to allow all ...
I never received a notice from the forum of St Pauli Girl's post ...
