New PC - W7 - New Smplayer Install - Crashes Automatically

Hi Guys,

I'm sure a bunch of you have seen this already:

I just got a brand new computer with Win 7 installed.

Just installed SMPlayer and as soon as I try to load any video, I get "Mplayer has finished unexpectedly, exit code 1"

And the following log appears:

- MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen.
It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and
won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug.


Does anyone have any idea what this means?

This happened the last time I installed it on a fresh machine too, and I had to search for days before finding the fix, and now I forgot it.

Anyone?

Why aren't there more threads on this? I'd assume it happens on all new W7 installs, no? I didn't do anything special (well, actually, I did change a few preferences in options)

Solved!

It didn't like the choice of output driver.... that's it!
