I have some .F4V files and SMPlayer can play them just fine but I am trying to make SMPlayer always the media player of choice for these files and I am having a issue doing this. I am right clicking on the .F4V file and selecting Open With then I browse for the SMPlayer exe and select open. But when I do this SMPlayer will not open. So the only way I can play .F4V files is to open SMPlayer and then from the interface click open then file.

I want to make SMPlayer the default player for .F4V files.

How can I do this?

I am on Windows 7 64 bit.

I added it into the installer. You need to add .f4v to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\Media\SMPlayer\Capabilities\FileAssociations in Vista/7. (An installer containing r3506 is now available from the experimental folder)
