Smplayer crashes

I have openSuse 11.3, KDE 4.6.4 and Smplayer 0.6.9 r3597-3.1+ mplayer 1.0rc4_r33574-1

(the same problem with r3599)

And if I start anything (mp3, avi) the gui blocks and no feedback. It playes but no info about time, no active any button, I can move and resize the window and if I click more times on the cross it shows warning the application doesnt respond and I can close it.
I tried to delete configuration files, but no effect.

Any idea what's wrong?
