Hi,
What are the advantages and disadvantages of each of these two audio drivers of win32 and dsound.
The 'dsound' was enabled by default when I downloaded portable smplayer but when I changed it to 'win32' (as well as disabling "use software volume control") I noticed an immediate sound quality improvement
I also noticed one annoying thing with 'dsound' with any audio/video I played and that was that at last few miliseconds of the audio track of file, the audio track would one-time repeat itself with a skip before final playback end. Try it yourselves on Windows with smplayer and see if you notice this too.
It's only clearly noticeable to the ears with files (audio or video) that continuously play to the end (no fading out). Please download this small video clip of a video game and test to see what I mean: 2.5 MB

this occurs with the 'dsound' audio driver but not with the 'win32' audio driver according to my tests.
I wonder what it is?
