Locking up Windows 7

It's only recently started doing this, but when I try and open an avi file, nothing happens. The player opens and shows a black screen. Nothing will play, clicking the play button does nothing, it just sits there. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, hoping there was some setting which would be deleted, but no. On reinstall, the radio worked fine. Just not with avi.

The only thing related which I can guess at is that I recently tried to get a video to show subtitles so I had been trying to turn subtitles on and off and had loaded and unloaded subtitle files (for a different video). I hadn't gone into the settings at all. Everything subtitle-related that I can find is now disabled, but still no joy actually getting the player to play a video.

I saw another thread suggesting it was the font. But changing the font to MS Sans Serif didn't help.

I'm running 7 64-bit with 4Gb ram on a pretty decent machine and it locks the CPU at 100% while it's doing its nothing. You can barely get the mouse to respond and after a few minutes the only option is to end task.

I'm pretty bummed because I absolutely adored SMPlayer - when it worked!

EDIT: I just ran the reset exe file. The only things I can tell that it's achieved is changing the language to Finnish (sigh) and reducing the CPU usage to 50%, still won't play anything.

Post the smplayer log (options -> view logs).
