Single Instance doesn't work anymore

From the time I installed this player on my Windows 7 64bit laptop its worked flawlessly until today. Now when I click on one video file and play it and then click on another video file, it opens another video window instead of using the same window. I have single instanced checkmarked in the options menu, but it doesn't make a difference. Can anyone help as this is a big problem for me as it reduces the functionality of this player drastically.
