Does SMplayer 0.8 support GL3 video output?

Wondering because in Vista x64, I only see GL / GL2 & Gl (YUV) / GL2 (YUV) - in addition to the other modules - DirectX, etc.

My GPU & driver version support GL3, but it isn't a choice in Preferences / Video Output. May not be any better in current SMplayer / mplayer than GL2 or directX, but was reading the developer of Mplayer2 recommends GL3, if hardware & drivers support it. So, just wondering.

Thanks.

Whenever the MPlayer ( http://www.mplayerhq.hu ) developers decide to implement it. Development seems very slow and mostly focus on fixing bugs, which is why or partly why MPlayer2 exists.

Thanks. I read in SMPlayer documentation (somewhere - may be outdated) that the suggested video output for Windows was DirectX - even over GL2.
I don't notice a lot of difference on hi def videos between DirectX, Direct3D or GL2, except GL2 seems to overly enhance color saturation / skin tones some. But, I have a fast processor, GPU w/ 1GB & lots of RAM.

I'm not sure what type of machine the mplayer2 devs had in mind when they said "GL3 will give the best performance." Since I haven't found a player that uses GL3 (AFAIK), can't compare it to GL2.

simply set path to mplayer2 in smplayer option, after that you can try the gl3 video output

I read SMPlayer (orig.) doesn't work w/ mplayer2 - though haven't tried it. I tried SMPlayer2 & it works OK, but lacks features in SMPlayer. Like customizing control / tool bars. Does the SMPlayer orig work for you w/ mplayer2?

Thanks.

There's support for mplayer2 but I didn't test much, so maybe some feature may not work as expected.
