I am new here. I tried smplayer, and found it a very good player.
But why not use GTK3 to draw GUI? GTK3 says it can run on Windows too, and run faster than QT4 on linux.

Switching to GTK would mean to throw away all the work of these 6 years, and start from scratch. Of course I won't do it.

If six years back, would you prefer GTK2 to QT?

Qt provides more than just drawing a GUI.
GTK also looks like more of a pain in the ass to compile on/for Windows. Qt provides an installer with everything needed to compile a Qt project. From the GTK programs I have on Windows, other than GTK itself a multitude of external libraries are also required to be compiled.
