does SMP have a auto update alert \
like NEW VERSION AVAILABLE when u connect
or do u need always check manually
if not can a auto update alert be added

I don't like those alerts, so I didn't implement it.

Version 0.8.2 will still take awhile to be released.
You can use the "unstable" packages if you want to try the very latest changes:
