I have configured SMPlayer to pause/play if clicked in the video area, but with the change introduced in version 0.8.2, "The main window can be moved by dragging the video area", when I move the window dragging the video area, the video gets also paused/played after the mouse button is released.


Also, in KDE (and I suspect other OS/DE/WM), KWin is configured (by default) to snap with other windows (or the panel), but when moving SMPlayer, it doesn't follow the window manager snap-settings. Can this be changed to follow the OS settings?

If SMPlayer is configured to play/pause on left click that might be why. Check in Preferences - Keyboard and mouse - Mouse settings.

I know that is the reason, I configured it to Play/Pause on left click, and I like it .

But when clicking and moving the mouse/window, the Play/Pause functionality should not come into effect, just when the mouse if not moved in the click process. I think this could fix the behavior. I have edited my previous post to clarify the problem.

Thanks for reporting the problem. I think it's fixed in svn r4934.
