AC3 Soundtrack not seekable

Postby seppl » Sun Jan 09, 2011 11:14 am

Greetings,

maybe soneone can help me.
I have a Sound-Video-Sync-problem. Sound and video are two separate files (AC3-Soundfile and an avi file (MP4) with the video). I open the video file and the soundfile afterwards, and both play fine. So far so good.
But as soon as I try to forward the video or jump to any position within the file, the sound file starts always playing from its beginning. The video instead plays from the selected position as expected, so I have an audio-video-delay from minutes to hours, depending on the position I jump to. :(
If I play a "normal" video file with sound and video in one file I have no problems.

I use SMplayer 0.6.9 and openSuSE 11.3 (Atom CPU wirh ION-chipset using vdpau)

Hello,

I have same problems with mp4 (h264) video file and mp3 audio file.
I hope there is a solution for it. We are using Jubler with MPlayer to make subtitles from audio files. But with this bug it very difficult, almost impossible to work.

Thank you!
Best Regards

I did a kind of test (video files and long mp3 audio I had around not related to the video) for this with MPlayer Sherpya-SVN-r32735-4.2.5 (latest mplayer win32 build from sherpya).

I tried the combinations: avi (xvid) - mp3 and mp4 (h264) - mp3 (do not have any ac3 file around) and though I can't be totally sure of the audio position start when jumping back and forth in the video was the right one, the audio never started from the beginning of the file.

I do not use Synchronization from /Options/General/Audio (A/V auto sync and A/V sync corr. all disabled) but have /Options/Adcanced/Correct PTS to "yes" though it might be useful to have it to no since that is still experimental...

Also remember settings for all files is disabled.

Maybe this will work for you too.

Cheers.
