MPlayer not detecting pulse, alsa

Trying to get off of OSS because it frequently doesn't work (see below), but the application doesn't notice pulse or alsa even though they're both installed and running. Video works just fine, it's just muted. MPlayer log output:

Maybe your mplayer is compiled without support for pulse and alsa.
