Can't unselect file type association

Hi,

The File Types tab in Options/preferences shows all file types pre selected but they appear grayed out and it doesn't allow to un select any of them.

I've tried uninstalling and re installing both 34 and 64 bit versions but the tab still shows up like that.

Anyone knows how to fix it?

Thanks!

Is this on Windows 8 or a different OS?

You should be able to set defaults in "Default Programs" from the control panel. That is the preferred way in Vista and later.

That all file types appear selected in smplayer in Win 8 is a bug in smplayer, but in Vista and later you can't unselect anything once selected.

Sorry for reviving a zombie thread, google shows this as the best result for the problem, and I've actually found a solution.

There's a tool call unassoc that let's you delete the associations for a particular file type. Once the association is deleted, you can then select it in whatever app you want to handle it, or just let windows ask what app to use when you open it. Here's the link: http://download.cnet.com/Unassoc/3000-2 ... 11436.html
