Hi...
I am using smplayer recently on my ubuntu. So, problem is how can I get exact subtitle style like this...?
And is there any keyboard shortcuts to download subtitles?
Following screenshot was taken from MPC-HC on windows 7.

You can change the look of the subtitles in preferences -> subtitles -> font and colors.
You can assign a key shortcut for the option to download subtitles in preferences -> keyboard and mouse.

What version of mplayer are you using?
It seems there's a problem with the version included in ubuntu precise and it doesn't honor the subtitles settings. It works ok with newer versions (I'm using MPlayer SVN r36426).

My mplayer version is SVN r34540.
So how can I update it to latest version of mplayer? Official smplayer website has same of version mplayer. So followed this site . But I cant find a right way to do as I am pretty much newbie to command lines.

I build mplayer from svn.
Maybe you can find a newer version in a PPA. You can also install mplayer2, it doesn't have the bug with the subtitles.
