smplayer asks that if it can't identify the mplayer version.
Select "1.0rc3 or newer".

mplayer is usually installed automatically when smplayer is installed, because smplayer depends on it.

Is it worong or it is different for different Distros ... and what if add sudo?

That command is wrong and does nothing. If you really typed that you didn't install mplayer so there's nothing to uninstall.
