I have recently upgraded from a very stable 8.24 to 8.6.5 which is causing me playback issues with standard DVD ISO files. It appears that at random times (perhaps switching between chapters), the audio is missing momentarily. This is very frustrating as this did not happen on version 8.24 with the same ISO files.

Please can anyone tell me why this is happening or how I can rectify this issue?

Maybe it has to do with the cache. Try to adjust the cache in preferences -> performance.

I set the DVD cache to 512KB, it seems to smooth chapter transitions.

Thanks. Increasing the cache did not work. I uninstalled SM Player and reinstalled with fresh settings (removed all old traces). Its now working as it should.
