Non-ASCII characters from tags

Hi,
is there a way to properly display non-ASCII characters from tags in the playlist or is it a bug?

I couldn't find any hint for this, but my SMPlayer 0.8.6 (32-bit) (OS: Win 7 x64) won't display non-ASCII characters from (video) tags.
Howsoever, file names with Unicode characters are displayed properly.
Each character beyond U+007F is replaced with the Unicode replacement character U+FFFD (mostly white question mark on black rhombus). This obviously implies that the playlist (as well as the used font) is able to display all Unicode characters, but it won't do it with tag data.
So if someone might help on this issue I'd be thankful.

In addition, I'd like to post a proposal:
Could it be possible to add more - maybe customizable - tag columns to the playlist? I'm missing tag fields for (e.g.) episode number and title.
I think it might be useful to make this option customizable as video tags are not standardized and fields for the same content have different names depending on the video container and/or tag editor.
I'm thinking of the tag features of foobar2000 which offers a strong and yet small playlist field editor with field name variables and functions.

But nevertheless all this should of course be avoided if the quick and slim design of this wonderful media player could get lost.

Thank you for taking time.

It's an old problem. It's a communication problem with mplayer.

I'll try to find a fix.
