YouTube Video Recording Anomaly?

I am using Version: 14.3.0 (64-bit). When I 'record video' on certain youtubes the down load window displays two files downloading for the one video : mp4 and mp4a. Examination of the contents reveals the mp4 file to contain only video data and the mp4a file to contain only audio data. Please fix so that a single file is the result of downloading a youtube video. -thank you

The 1080p videos are in DASH format. In this format the video and audio are in separated streams. That's why smtube downloads two files. However if you open the mp4 file (the video) smplayer will automatically use the m4a file for the audio.

^ Thank you.
If there is no plan to have the player produce a single file download can you help me with this 'mencoder' utility? Where can I get it, how/where do I install it, etc. ?
-thx

I think the mplayer builds by redxii contain mencoder too.
