Lags with SMplayer under compiz+xfce

Upgraded to the latest v14.3 of SMplayer. The problem is:
(1) everytime, I click the menu or do a rightclick to summon up the context menu, it takes about 2 seconds for the menu to pop up;
(2) it also takes about 2 seconds for SMplayer to respond when I try to minimize or maximize it;
(2) sometimes I can only terminate SMplayer in the system task manager;
This only happens under compiz windows manager. I tested the latest version of SMplayer under native xfce4 windows manager, it works like a charm.
