Revision numbering

I am confused over svn and revision numbers ?
In rvn's rvn advised to update to
... on the today 24hours later the revision number is r36243
It appears the version number "14.3.0" stays the same but the revision numbering is played down on the download page, where as the revision numbering is the clue/key to an update, not the 14.3.0 edition.
What is the difference between r36243 and svn r6255 ? Are they one in the same ?
And the download page URLS are different, which creates some confusion in my mind.
The link on is in fact a downloads manager. As the largest most dominent link on the page it implies "the" SMPlayer download, where as it would be better listed as a smaller link for those who want a download manager.
As you can tell I have spent some time clicking around trying to clarify revisions
The other mirrors on do not indicate revision numbering.
Would the FossHub portable versions include svn r6255 ?
Portable aside ... what would be the best URL to ensure getting the most up-to-date revisions, all of the time ?
Sorry to labour the point...
Thank you
