Could you send the smplayer log? (options -> view logs)

You need to update SMPlayer to the latest version in SVN. The version you're using doesn't have support for mpv.

You can get here packages for Ubuntu:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/smplay ... le/ubuntu/

Ooops, sorry, saw the news post and thought the PPA was updated too. My bad!

No, I haven't uploaded this version to the PPA. Since this is still quite experimental code, I think it's not a good idea to upload it to the PPA yet.

Oopsie, installed the unstable deb and now have dependency issues. Will fix and report back!

Okay, works well, but now various other things are borked, my fault for installing an unstable.

The deb from the link above uninstalls a bunch of stuff and can't coexist, perhaps because it's a 32 bit one? Anyways, look forward to a full release :-)

Mmm, the packages were build on Ubuntu Precise. Maybe if you installed them on different version it may cause dependency problems. I'm sorry for that :(

I've just uploaded the smplayer packages to this PPA, with packages for Precise, Trusty and Utopic:

Oh brilliant, I'll try that!

Yeah I'm on utopic. I got excited and thought I'd just install without checking anything

No need to apologise, seemed to be easy to fix. Appreciate all your work on SMPlayer.

SMPV? :D
