Posted: Fri Feb 11, 2011 10:04 pmSeems like an audio problem to me so I'd suggest you try and disable step by step some of the audio options you did set in the smplayer options - most likely the equalizer.

Posted: Thu Feb 24, 2011 2:48 pmDeleting the smplayer config files will reset all options to some defaults -- since that still crashes the player it means that also some of the defaults are the reason for crash. I would suggest that you browse the settings with patience and try to figure which is the "faulty" one.

Posted: Wed Mar 09, 2011 2:10 amI have the same problem as the OP. An older version of SMPlayer played my mkv files. However, v0.6.9 will no longer play the very same mkv video files that used to work correctly.
When I looked at the video driver in preferences, it was set to gl2. I loaded all the other drivers systematically, but they wouldn't play the mkv files either.
The only change to my hardware since I last played these mkv video files is that now I have an ATI card.
I can play the mkv files on other software, such at MKV Players. So the files are not corrupted.
Any suggestions?
