SMPlayer Support Forum

Just install smplayer on Mint 17.1 following instructions. The program launch alright, however every time it tries to play a movie, I get an error saying that mplayer has not launch and to verify the path in the preferences. I uninstall and reinstall again, same error. I am not that great with linux. Can someone please point me in the right direction ?

Ok after realizing that smplayer is a front end for mplayer, the later was not installed. I had uninstall my old distro's smplayer before updating, which seems to have taken out mplayer as well . So I went back into the packages installer and reinstall mplayer. All is well now
