Running SMPlayer just after installations opens
http://smplayer.sourceforge.net/first-steps.php in the browser.
This is annoying and i would like that not to happen. Just like i would not like my browser to start playing a video in SMPlayer the first time i launch the browser.

This can be disabled in preferences -> updates. Uncheck the option "open an informative page after an upgrade".

It happens the first time SMPlayer starts. So not possible to get into settings before it happens.
But still its annoying when software opens up other software on your computer that you dont want to.
Would be better to give information the user of the update and a link to more info if the users wishes to read more.

Yes. You're the first who complained about this.

Every time I open a file with smplayer it opens
http://www.smplayer.info/first-steps.phpI even tried disabling "open informative page..." but it gets enabled as I open a file

Maybe there's a problem when saving the smplayer configuration. Be sure the smplayer configuration folder is writable.
