Modyfy the standard SMPlayer skin color

Hello,

I was unable to find any info on Where to copy (or how to copy) the new skin files.
Seems to be a secret that everyone is guarding with his own life...
I've spent a couple of hours searching everywhere - at no avail.

I for one just want to make the default gray skin a bit darker, that's all.
For being such an open-source project, it sure doesn't make any sense to hide this kind of simple skinnig options. No offense to the developers...

Any help, anybody ?

Thanks in advance !

There are links in the download page to the sources, so it's not so hidden:

You can copy the themes in the "themes" folder in the smplayer config folder (in linux that's ~/.config/smplayer/themes/). You can use the option Help -> Open configuration folder to find out where you config folder is in your system.

Thanks, rvm !

Yeah, I know the links of the skins and themes archive.
I just couldn't figure out where to place them...

Because there's no "Themes" folder in my system ! By the way, I'm runnig Windows (XP).

Anyway, I've opened the config folder (using the "Help" menu just like you've said) and it took me the the ".smplayer" folder in my user account - but again, I have no "Themes" folder there - so I reckon I just need to create one - and then what - extract the skin archive contents there - or just drop the archive as it is...

I mean, you have to admit - it's not so straight forward (I mean "obvious") how to proceed.
I've been modding a few games for the past 15 years or so (so it's not like I have no knowledge about tweaking :-) - but this skin thing seems to be really hard to get to grips with... :-(

Thanks !

The "themes" folder doesn't exist, you have to create it. Inside of it, the themes should be installed in subfolders (the subfolder name will be the theme name), Inside those subfolders there must be the pngs files and the rest of files.

Thank you.

Yeah, I did that, but the "skinnable GUI" option is still grayed-out.
I'm using the 14.9.0 version on the player.
For example, the "Black" theme is located at "C:\Documents and Settings\10\.smplayer\themes\Black", and it has all the "png" files in it, like you've said.

Am I missing anything ?

Get the current version (14.9.0.6812) from the .

Version 14.9.0 loads the icons from resource files (rcc), it ignores the png files.

I see, thank you. I'll give it a go.
It was kind of obvious that it was something wrong, since changing the skin seemed to be such a simple thing - just to choose that "skinnable GIU" option - but it just wasn't working, no matter what I did...
