I tested with a few video files (.mp4 and .mkv) , everytime I take a screenshot with Smplayer the movie will break up with little flashing black squares and need to restart Smplayer. The screenshots are good though. I am using Smplayer 14.9.0 (svn r6887) from rvm ppa on Ubuntu 15.04 64 bit, with mpv as the backend. Graphic card in Intel ironlake mobile.
I am wondering if there is any setting I need to adjust (can't find any)
Thanks.
P.S. For testing I just took a few screenshoots with vlc and there was no breaking up.

I never experienced this problem. If you select another video output, is it still happening?

Hi,
It doesn't happen with video output switched to xv (from vaapi), but cpu usage shoots up.

Hi,
It is like described here
https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/issues/1926However I cannot reproduce it with mpv --no-config --hwdec=vaapi and taking the screenshot with prints screen. With just mpv and vaapi there is no problem. Corruption only happens when using Smplayer.

That post says it happens being in a directory without the permissions to write. Maybe you set up in smplayer a folder for the screenshots with no permissions to write?
