SMPlayer Support Forum

Im running a 64 bit version of smplayer just downloaded it yesterday. Whenever i go try to play high def music videos, the video just lags like crazy. I think the audio is slightly slower than it usually is as well. I mucked around with the drivers, but i have no idea what im doing. Its not my computer cause i can play them in windows media player, and they run perfect. Ill also add that im running my computer through my 40" hdmi samsung tv, it is connected with a dvi to hdmi adapter. I got the logs as from what i can understand that helps. Thanks in advance for your help, google didnt help, everything was outdated

In the settings under Performance you can try increasing the "threads for decoding".

Here is the m player log. Says my computer is to slow? but it works fine on windows media player, and only seems to be music videos.

Possible reasons, problems, workarounds:
- Most common: broken/buggy _audio_ driver
- Try -ao sdl or use the OSS emulation of ALSA.
- Experiment with different values for -autosync, 30 is a good start.
- Slow video output
- Try a different -vo driver (-vo help for a list) or try -framedrop!
- Slow CPU
- Don't try to play a big DVD/DivX on a slow CPU! Try some of the lavdopts,
e.g. -vfm ffmpeg -lavdopts lowres=1:fast:skiploopfilter=all.
- Broken file
- Try various combinations of -nobps -ni -forceidx -mc 0.
- Slow media (NFS/SMB mounts, DVD, VCD etc)
- Try -cache 8192.
- Are you using -cache to play a non-interleaved AVI file?
- Try -nocache.

Maybe you are playing a non-interleaved stream/file or the codec failed?
For AVI files, try to force non-interleaved mode with the -ni option.
