lag of playing 1080p video

Hello
When I play with mplayer without argument have no problem, but when play with smplayer, high resolution videos have lag.
Could you please help me?

Please, send the mplayer log (options -> view logs).

You're using x11 as output driver, which is very slow. You should try another one, like xv or opengl.

What is printed by mpv when you use it directly? It should print which backend it uses. Use the same backend in SMPlayer.
