Nobody likes ads but we have to realize that advertisement is the thing that keep many websites alive.

Getting a JavaScript alert() message the first time you visit the website is annoying to the user.
Just like if i visit a website and 3 seconds later a box appear asking me to subscribe to newsletters.
You know what i do when this happens?
I leave.
